End of the Semester or End of Sami?

Okay, yeah I’m being a little bit over dramatic. I mean, doesn’t being a Pisces give me the right to act like a drama queen when it comes down to that end of semester finals month that I am experiencing?

Okay, yeah….maybe not. Unless your Kate Sanders and Lizzie McGuire is being an outfit repeater, there is never a reason to be a drama queen. But I will still sit here being dramatic (with a tiara, of course) and be acting like this pageant princess:

The point of this post, however, was not for me to tell you all about my stress level since I am sure you are beyond stressed to. The main point of this post is to let you know, I am still alive. My 21st birthday didn’t kill me (shockingly enough). I’m just trying to make it through the rest of the semester. Once it is summer, however, I can’t wait to be posting more frequently and keep working on all of the different updates and plans I have for Sparkle and Shine.

In the meantime, stay up-to-date on my life via Twitter and Instagram (I even held a tarantula yesterday, so you know you want to check it out!). When you are trying to get through the rest of the semester, just remember to keep sparkling! Life won’t sparkle unless you do! All your hard work will pay off, readers!

Hollywood Hump Day Treat

Happy Hump Day!
I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday of this week – partially because this week seems to be flying by and partially because I still have so many items to cross off my to-do list!
I know my favorite way to procrastinate is by catching up on some Hollywood gossip, so why don’t you do the same?
Check out these stories from my internship this week at TheCelebrityCafe.com.
Wonder what will happen this week in Hollywood! Maybe some Miley gossip? More on Tyga and Kylie? Look’s like we will just have to wait and see!

New York City Style to See “The Lion King” on Broadway { OOTD }

Hello, my sparkling readers!

It’s been quite a while, since I have done a fashion post. When going into the city recently with my family to see “The Lion King,” I felt inspired to share with you all the outfit of my choice for the NYC day!

Jacket: Dressbarn | Top: Dressbarn | Jeggings: American Eagle | Shoes: DSW

I am absolutely in love with this jacket! It was so light and added a fashionable sense to the outfit. With the spring weather coming, it was the perfect light jacket to cover up the sleeves for when it was chilly. The versatile jacket has definitely become a staple in my closet as we continue into the warmer months. I can’t help but to think how cute it will look on summer nights.

Due to the occasion, I chose to pair the outfit with a pair of classic, black boots. If the outfit was meant for a girl’s only brunch with my sorority family (and mimosas, of course!) or a nice dinner out, I would pair the outfit with a pair of heeled sandals, such as these Michael Antonio Thorstein sandals in white. I’ve been really needing to add a new pair to my closet and these may just be the piece!

Let your outfits sparkle and shine, have a great week, and if you can go see “The Lion King” – go see it!

My Monday Musts

Hey readers!

I hope you had a great week. I’ve been a little M.I.A this past week (in case you didn’t know), but I am back now and have plenty of fun posts planned for this week!

But first, I’m going to back track myself a little bit and explain what would have been My Monday Musts from the following week….

Last Monday, I explained all about how I had turned twenty-fun and had been having the time of my life since. But on the 28th, my friend Alyssa and I had an open bar booked to celebrate. In sweet-sixteen fashion, we had our super sweet 21st open bar birthday bash. Check out some of the pictures from the fun, filled night with my best friends!

But now, birthday world has come to an end and it back to reality. Time for meetings, Res Life duty shifts, classes, homework, and everything in between.

All I know, is that I have so many exciting posts planned for this week. Stay tuned readers, keep sparkling, and just wait and see what is coming this week for Sparkle and Shine!

My Monday Musts

Happy Monday, readers!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I sure did – I celebrated my first weekend as being a twenty one year old! I have been waiting my whole life for this weekend.

To kick off the birth-week (more like birth-month, to be brutally honest), some of my best friends and I went to Hibachi on my actual birthday, the 15th. We celebrated with scorpion bowls, saki bombs, good laughs, and tons of delicious food:

Then on Friday, I celebrated my first true night out by going to my first bar with my big and her roommates! We went to Aunt Chilada’s, known as Aunchie’s for Quinnipiac Bobcats. We celebrated my birthday and the Saint Patrick’s Day holiday. There is nothing I love more than a good theme party, so that combined with my birthday and my first bar experience with my big – I was in H E A V E N.

Finally on Saturday, I celebrated in one of the best ways possible – with my Alpha Delta Pi sisters! We had our nautical themed formal that night, so I get to celebrate with all of my best friends. Thank you to my big, my little, my g-little, and all our dates for giving me the greatest first legal Saturday I could imagine!

Plus, this week I made my first liquor store purchase! I don’t know what I’m happier about – the fact that I was being a legal adult or just got a spray tan.

Don’t worry mom, I also did homework and went to class and all that jazz this week, too…

Now someone get MTV on the phone, because I will be continuing to rest up, especially my liver, for when my friend Alyssa and I celebrate our super sweet 21st birthday this weekend! We’re ready to paaaaaarty….

Have a great week, readers! Make it as sparkling as you are!

My Monday Musts

Happy Monday, readers!

While I’m enjoying some nice R&R while on Spring Break, I’m trading in any beach bum adventures for laying in my Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed bedroom, reading, blogging, and binge watching Criminal Minds (and preparing myself, and my liver, for my 21st birthday on Sunday!). However, I truly do need this time to rest, relax, and just put on a face mask while wearing my favorite fuzzy socks because I have had a ton of great news happening for me these past few days.

First off, I got my first internship! I am now an editorial intern for TheCelebrityCafe.com, writing on celebrity gossip, television recaps, and all things related to Hollywood! I officially start this week and can’t wait to dive right in – snuggled up in bed, freshly manicured fingers typing away at the computer! Stay connected with me on Twitter to read my posts, which I will be tweeting and retweeting.

I am the newest News Director elect for my school’s TV station! Overall, I have gotten super involved with my school’s television station – living and breathing journalism. On Wednesday alone, I did work for the station from 11 am until 10:30 p.m. and let me tell you readers, I loved it! It was in that moment that I realized that I truly am doing exactly what I love and can’t wait to continue to do it as my career. Well, it is a good thing that I realized this because I was elected to the News Director position. This means, whenever there is any breaking news I will be the first one on the scene, tweeting about what is happening, putting together a web write up, and getting footage. Plus, I will have a lot more behind the scenes work to do on our school’s newscast. I did the weather in our last newscast, as well as put together a package on the snow mounds around campus! Check it out here.

I was elected into the National Residence Hall Honorary Society! On Quinnipiac’s campus, this organization only accepts the top one percent of student leaders. I am honored to be classified in that group. The National Organization is based upon “honorary comprised of exemplary residential students who value recognition and service.”  I am excited to be inducted in April to this group of other driven student leaders to help honor other star leaders on campus.

I am returning as a Resident Assistant to my building again next year! The most rewarding experience of my life has been becoming an Resident Assistant, as I have explained time and time again on here. As the process of rehiring and getting placed in residence halls for next year came quickly, I was getting so nervous. First off, I absolutely wanted to stay with freshmen. I don’t think I could ask for a more rewarding experience that being a “big sister” role for 20-something 18 year olds as they begin to find their place in college. More over, I don’t think I would have gotten such an incredible experience if I was in a different residence hall. Lucky enough for me, I will be returning to Irma/Dana for another fun-filled year!

Also, coming up I have my 21st birthday, a bunch of my friend’s turning 21, my first time hitting the bars with my big, my junior year formal, and my 21st birthday open bar! Here’s to March being one incredible month, filled with plenty more good times and even more good news!

Top 3 Instagrams of the Month: February 2015

Happy March, readers!

I am so happy that it is finally March because it is now my birthday month! In just a few short days, I will be able to celebrate the day I have been looking forward to my whole life: becoming 21.

March holds so many exciting opportunities for me! I have my twenty first birthday on the 15th, my super sweet twenty first open bar birthday party with one of my best friends on the 28th, my sorority formal on the 21st, and being able to relax during spring break. On Friday, I go home for spring break and all I can think about is laying in my Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired bedroom, curled up drinking some tea, and reading Dirty Rush, Total Sorority Move‘s newest book that they just sent me in the mail.

Looking forward to all these great times ahead, makes me look back to all the great times I had in February. On my Instagram, I chronicled all that I had done. These are the posts that had received the most likes out of all of my February adventures.

feb 1

In honor of World Cancer Day on February 4th, I honored my favorite guardian angel who taught me how to wink (but didn’t teach me you can’t exactly wink in photos). I hope that one day a time comes that other daddy’s little girls do not have to loose their number one man to cancer.

feb 2My love of journalism continues to grow each and everyday. This semester, I was selected to do the weather for our school’s news station. You can watch the episode here. More importantly, stay tuned for some exciting news about my involvement in the news department for Q30!

feb 3

For the past two years, I have kept my Alpha Delta Pi letters on my front because I knew I can count on my sisters to have my back. Two years ago in February, I ran home to the organization that completely changed for the better. Deep in my heart, I love my ADPi.

Continue to follow all of my adventures, especially as I enter into the life of being a legal adult, on Instagram or check out January’s Top Instagram pictures!sigggggg
