Liebster Award

Jen from From One Journey to the Next nominated me for the Liebster award, which is an award for up-and-c0ming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. I am so honored that Jen selected me. Her blog is awesome and I recommend you going to check it out ASAP.

So, here are the rules:
– 11 Random Facts about yourself
– Answer the 11 questions the awarding blogger has posted for you
– Nominate 11 bloggers (with less than 200 followers)
– Let the bloggers you have nominated, know you nominated them!
– No tag backs

Random Facts:
1. I once hugged Taylor Swift. Yes, THE Taylor Swift. My friend and I had floor seats for the “Speak Now” tour. When she came down the aisle, she hugged us. It was AWESOME.
2. I own every episode of “Duck Dynasty,” “Full House,” and “The Big Bang Theory” on DVD.
3. My initials spell my name, SAM. As you know my first name is Sami, my middle name starts with an A, and my last name starts with an M!
4. I was a varsity swimmer in high school. I competed in the 500 meter free style and 100 breast stroke. I also did YMCA competition swimming and a recreational summer league.
5. A few years ago I was on the background of Kathy Lee & Hoda’s segment of “The Today Show.”
6. I am a VERY picky eater. I pretty much only eat a few certain foods and whenever I go to a restaurant, I almost always get the EXACT same thing.
7. In elementary school, I won two essay contests, two math bees, and two spelling bees.
8. I don’t know how to ski or snowboard, but I really want to learn how to ski!
9. The only country I have visited has been Canada. However, I really want to travel the world.
10. My favorite color is pink – however, my bedroom at home is purple and my comforter at school is purple (well, purple cheetah print!).
11. I LOVE Disney. I have the autograph of every single character there is. I also have my Cinderella wedding all planned out and own every Disney movie.

My Questions from Jen:

1. Why did you start blogging? I’ve always loved writing. I remember being a little girl and writing – everything from in a diary to books to my own magazines. Last March, I attended a journalism conference and they talked all about the benefits of having a blog. I thought that hearing that a writing hobby could benefit my future was a sign I should make one. So ta-dah! I did.

 2. Who do you look up to? Why? I look up to my mother, hands down. She is my role model and my inspiration. She has taught me to overcome any obstacles I face because I am strong enough to do so and that she will always be by my side doing so. The song “I Learned From You” by Miley Cyrus describes how I feel about her perfectly. Listen to the song and you can see EXACTLY why I look up to her.

3. What’s one food you could never live without? CHICKEN FINGERS WITH TOOOOOOOOONS OF KETCHUP. I have the same food tastes as a 5 year old.

4. What was your favorite toy growing up? I was such a stereotypical little girl who loved Barbies. I had so many Barbies and would always dress them up. Whatever career Barbie took on, I would have her be that part. I was lucky enough that my parents and family were able to bless me with so much that Barbie was able to have everything from her dream house to dream car to dream boyfriend.

5. What’s one song I should be listening to? One bad I LOVE that most people don’t know about is Mariana’s Trench! I recommend “Cross My Heart.” It’s also one of my fave music videos EVER.

6. What are your top 3 favorite TV shows? DUCK DYNASTY, Big Brother, The Millers

7. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? I very much want to travel the world. One place I want to go to is Australia!

8. What is one beauty product you cannot do without? My mascara! I can’t leave without putting mascara on. I love to play up my blue eyes and long eyelashes with mascara. I’m currently using “Lash Blash” by Maybelline.

9. What’s your favorite Christmas movie and song? My favorite Christmas Movie is the old school claymation “The Year Without A Santa Clause” and my favorite Christmas Song is “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

10. If you could only have one candy for the rest of your life, what would it be? Reeces Peanut Butter Cups!

11. What’s your favorite scent? My favorite perfume is Viva La Juicy. I’m actually really bad at answering scent questions for some reason because I never really know. LOL

I nominate:

1. Hannah @ The Fro-Yo Diaries

2. Adriana Renee @ With Love, Adriana Renee

3. Jess @ Busy Being Jess

4. Alyssa @ My Life’s a Cup of Cake

5. Dylan @ Sartorial Spice

6. Trina @ Tales of a Fluorescent Adolescent

7. Olivia @ Liv, Love, Laugh

8. Kriselle @ Livin’ and Lovin’

9. Shannah & Tara @ The Students’ Lifestyle

10. Kristine @ The Glitter Diaries

11. Devin @ Run Like a Girl

My questions for them:

1. If you were stuck on an island and could only have three items with you – what would you bring?

2. What was the last show you binge watched on Netflix?

3. What’s the last thing you bought?

4. Who is your favorite Disney character?

5. Backstreet Boys or NSync?

6. What was your favorite show as a kid?

7. What’s your favorite book?

8. What is your dream job?

9. If you could eat dinner with anyone – dead or alive – who would you pick? Why?

10. What’s your favorite restaurant?

11. What are your blogging goals?

My Monday Musts

Happy Monday, readers!

I can’t believe that this is my last Monday being home for winter break. I made sure to do all my last minute errands today – like the essential last eye brow wax – before I head back to school on Saturday! I’ve been packing… and over packing…. all my new clothes (sorry mom!) for my second semester of sophomore year. I just can’t wait to be back with my friends and sisters. However, I am very much going to miss my family.

But before school even comes, I am excited for my big to come home from Trinidad tomorrow, so she has wifi again so we can text non-stop!  Because as you may not know, we do….Image

Another reason I’m excited for this week, “Duck Dynasty” comes back this week for a new season!!! I love how so many people are relating the show to me – I received a snapchat today of a Walmart’s “Duck Dynasty” section from my friend Bailey saying how it madde me think of her and a sister of mine Tweeted “Duck Dynasty” tee shirts she found to me because it made her think of me. Quack, quack!

But here we go, readers, this week’s Monday Musts!

1. “The Millers” on CBS

CBS has a new show this season called just “The Millers.” I watched it one night after “The Big Bang Theory” and became obsessed. I binge watched every single episode On Demand in the matter of 48 hours because I became so obsessed. The hilarious show follows the Miller family after the parents, Tom and Carol, separate after 43 years. After their son, Nathan, tells his parents of his divorce, Tom promptly leaves Carol. Carol them moves in with Nathan, who is 43 years old. Tom moves in with daughter Debbie, and her husband and son. The show has me laughing every single time for the full 30 minutes! I haven’t binge watched a show like this in forever because I’m just so hooked! Catch it Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.

Image

2. “The Bling Ring” Novel by Nancy Jo Sales

In an old My Monday Musts, I talked about how I watched “The Bling Ring” movie and became obsessed. I decided to read “Vanity Fair” writer Nancy Jo Sale’s biography on the crime spree. It was such an interesting read because Sales was in contact with the lawyers of the defendants, the defendants themselves, such as Nick Prugo, and offered an interesting insider facts and statistics. For anyone else who is as interested in the Burglar Bunch and their celebrity stealing spree, I absolutely recommend this book. Just be forewarned – it is written very much like a magazine article.

Image

3. I got my third hole pierced in each ear!

Yay! I got another piercing, readers! I got my third hole in each ear pierced this past week when Julia and I went on a (much-needed) shopping spree at the mall! Ever since I got my cartilage pierced, I had wanted to get my third hole pierced – and I finally did! Seven piercings in total in both ears and now I’m official done! Yay!

Image

Yay! Now time to go watch the season premiere of “The Fosters” and Juan Pablo on “The Bachelor.”

Happy Monday, readers! Keep sparkling!

I Have Never Loved A Hair Bow as Much as My Bow from “Bowtique By Jacqueline”

This is a sponsored post. However, all opinions are my own.

As we know I’m a sorority girl, and like, proud.

As a part of the stereotypical sorority girl couture are the hair bows. Bowtique by Jacqueline  on Etsy offers the cutest bows I have ever seen!! I want to share my love for them with all of you by posting about them today on “Sparkle and Shine.”

bowtique by jacqueline

Jacqueline, the store‘s owner, was super sweet and sent me this ADPi bow so I can rep my sorority!

bow

First off, her packaging was very nice and professional. The bow came on a card that featured the Etsy shop website address, the store’s Instagram tag, and a bow design. I really loved that it said “Handmade in California.” From talking to Jacqueline, I knew that it was, however, it was great to see that! It really gave it such a personal touch and any shopper loves personal touches!

The bow itself was incredible, too! The bow came in ADPi colors and even had Alpha Delta Pi’s sorority abbreviation, ADPi, in the corner! The heart on top of the i was the perfect touch to the bow to show off the sweetness that comes with being a sorority woman.

bow3

Plus, the bow looked great in my hair! I loved the size of it – so when I threw what I knew, you were able to see some of the bow!

bow4

Another reason I loved the bow? It’s able to spice up any outfit. In college, I am constantly running around because of my hectic life, that I don’t always want to get dressed. So I’ll throw on a pair of yoga pants, a matching Victoria Secret hoodie & my white vest. Adding the bow in my hair made it look so cute – so I am happy that I can wear the Bowtique by Jacqueline bow with anything!!

bow5

With Jacqueline from Bowtique by Jacqueline being as fabulous as she is, she also included some hair ties! I haven’t tried these new type of hair ties, so I was super excited. The pack of four included a champagne colored one with gold dots, gold glitter (I’m obsessed with this one!), a teal one, and a black one. Again, they came packaged on a similar card to the bow, which included the name of the shop and “Handmade in CA.”

bow7

Of course, they spruce up any pony tail! But, on the days that I’m even too tired to put in a cute pony tail, I will just pull it back at the nape of my neck and throw on my baseball cap. These hair ties are perfect for doing this and add a cute little color pop to spice it up. I love how the gold glitter hair ties looks with my Vineyard Vines baseball cap.

bow6

Overall, I have nothing but positives to say about Bowtique by Jacqueline and her products. This Alpha Delta Pi girl loves her bow and hair ties and recommends you RUSH over to Bowtique by Jacqueline as fast as you can to hair bows, hair ties, and other Greek gifts!

Through the Eyes of a College Sophomore: The 12 things I learned in the 12 months of 2013

I can’t believe 2013 is already over.

I know that it’s been over for about a week now, but I have been working on this for so long, and so hard, to come up with the perfect lessons that I have realized and that could really summarize life as a 19 year old.

So here they are – what I learned in 2013!

1. January – Keep on dreaming!

My parents taught me to always dream, believe in my dreams, and work towards them. My biggest dream is to be an NBC broadcaster. In January of 2013, some of my college best friends and I went to the beautiful New York City (which you all know from this post!) I made my friends wake up super early, so we can be there to see them shoot part of “The Today Show.” My friends are so supportive of me, so they were there super early with me to watch the show be filmed. They even snapped this (candid) pic of me day dreaming into the studio. No matter what, I will keep my dreams alive in my heart because I believe one day, I will reach them!

2. February – You can ALWAYS make the best of ANY situation!

Connecticut found Nemo during February, resulting in no class for week at Quinnipiac. Instead of thinking of the negatives of one of the worst snow storms we have ever seen, my best friends and I all made the best of it. We had snowball fights, movie marathons, and even dug some igloos. We may have even Pamed up a cookie sheet to try and go sledding…which may or may not have ended badly. Either way, with the right people around you, you can always make the best of any situation! Keep to the positives and the situation itself will be positive.

3. March – Seize every opportunity possible, not only because of what you can get out of it, but it creates incredible memories.

In life, I have realized I don’t want to just sit back as an 80 year old woman and re-call worthless memories. I want to look back on my life and tell of all of the incredible experiences I have had. You can’t take anything for granted, so you must seize opportunities. In March, I attended a college journalism conference. There, NBC host Willie Geist, spoke to us college aged journalists. NBC is my dream job, as I mentioned earlier, so when Mr. Geist asked if anyone had any questions, I immediately came up with something (I honestly can’t even remember it because I was so star struck when I go onto the microphone to introduce myself and ask him). As soon as I was done, I also wanted to meet him. My sister, Nikki, who also asked a question, also wanted to meet him. So, when he was walking off the stage, we just simply ASKED him. Next thing we knew, we had not only a (dark) picture, but a line of people behind us. I proudly will admit that I seized the opportunity to ask one of my journalism heroes a question AND get a picture with him!

4. April – Show your school pride – because you won’t always be in college.

When you’re 35 years old, it isn’t socially acceptable to be sporting your college’s tee shirt, rioting, and screaming your pride to be whatever animal your school is. You’ll just be given the odd glances and eye rolls deeming you to be stuck in your college years. However, you still are in your college years! Cheer for your school, wear your school colors, hey, paint your face or even your body. Quinnipiac went to the finals for the Frozen Four last year, where our whole campus came together to cheer on our school. Once you graduate college, you’re in something called “the real world” (yuck.) So get all your school pride out while you’re still in college. For Quinnipiac, that even results in a riot or two. #bobcatpride

5. May – Cross things off your bucket list, no matter how “unlike you” it may be.

So, I’ve always wanted to go fishing. Yes, me – the girl who only likes the outdoors if she’s at the beach and is scared of any animal that she doesn’t consider “cute.” Yet, for some reason, I’ve always wanted go fishing. ANY boy, even family members, would NEVER take me for as long as I can remember, claiming I was going to be “too loud” for the fish or some other excuse they could come up with. My best friend Connor finally took me fishing! We had to climb through woods (which included a lot of rocks, trees, and bugs-oh my!), but finally got to his special fishing spot. Before I knew it, I had cast my line into the water and I was catching fish. Don’t just create a bucket list – but accomplish what is on it. There will be no better feeling to be able to cross it off your list. Don’t be afraid, no matter how “unlike you,” it may be – because hey, I’m a fishing natural, according to Connor!

6. June – Real friendship doesn’t let time or distance come in between it.

One of the hardest parts about going away to college was being separated from my best friend, Julia. There were not enough phone calls, Facetimes, or text messages to make up for the fact that we couldn’t be together 24/7, like we normally are. Coming home felt like no time had passed – we were still as close as ever, not that I could ever, ever doubt that anything could come between us. Because with real friendship, nothing can ever come between it. You’ll realize who your friends are. They’re the friends who become family and soul sisters. The people you can tell anything to. They become your person, in Grey’s Anatomy terms. And nothing can come between that. It won’t be just like any friendship – when it’s your BFF soulmate, you’ll know. Cherish it. I do.

7. July – Live despite your fears and what scares you to death.

My girl Taylor Swift preaches such incredible quotes and lyrics about life and love.  One of my favorites is, ““To me, Fearless is not the absense of fear. It’s not being completely unafraid. To me, Fearless is having fears. Fearless is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death.” On July 13, I went to a Taylor Swift concert with my friends Kate and Tori. Being there, for my second ever T. Swift concert, just put this quote more into aspects. Taylor faces love, heart break, and haters all the time. However, she lets no obstacle stop her in life because she is fearless. Everyone needs to be fearless. More importantly, everyone can be.

8. August – Take the time out to visit true friends.

When I first moved to my town in the seventh grade, Sarah was my first best friend. Now, as sophomores in college, we are still best friends. Since then, Sarah has moved about an hour away. On top of that, I go to college about two hours away. So on average, we are away from each other by three hours. However, summer is the time when we can really see each other. Taking days off of work to visit Sarah was so worth it. They say friendship that lasts more than six years last forever, and we hit six years. I know Sarah and I will always be friends, especially since we have had plenty of long talks discussing our future weddings. In today’s day and age, we are always stressed and running from place to place. Take time out of the busy schedule to catch up with each other and visit each other. I am so thankful that Sarah and I can make our friendship work as we grow older. Take it from us- Friendly’s is a great place for BFF dates!

9. September – Be a little bit devil, but a little bit angel.

Sing along with me, readers: THERE’S A…LITTLE BIT OF DEVIL IN HER ANGEL EYES. In September, I saw “Love and Theft” perform. Of course they performed their hit song, “Angel Eyes.” So be a little bit wild, but find the happy medium of the good girl. Make mistakes, because you will learn from them. So, have fun. Let your guard down. Take chances and talk to new people. Just be aware of the thin line that exists. Don’t cross it. Be a happy balance between a bit of a devil, and a bit of an angel.

10. October: Halloween is the one day of the year you can be whatever you want to be, so seize the opportunity.

Halloween allows you to be whoever you want. Not everyday can I walk around as Tom Cruise from “Risky Business” (no matter how comfortable it may be) or a construction worker, like I did this year. In college, Halloween turns into a weekend, sometimes week long, event. Get dressed up. Be whatever you want. Nothing is off limits. Once your out of college, it won’t be socially acceptable to dress up. The office probably won’t want you to be walking around as “The Morning After,” will it?

halloween

11. November: A little party never killed nobody.

In November, I had my “Great Gatsby” themed semi formal. From it, I learned to go out and have fun. A party is a night where you can throw all your cares to the wind and be carefree. Take a moment out of the stressful life to de-stress and have fun. More importantly, do it big. Dress up, do your makeup and hair, and take as many pictures. These are memories you will always want to remember. There’s always time tomorrow to study for that test on Monday. There always going to be  day for you to hangout in bed, but there won’t always be a themed party, or any party for that matter.

little party never killed nobody

12. December: No matter your age, holidays are the perfect time with family.

Family is the most important thing to me. My mom is one of my best friends and I text/call/Snapchat/Facetime my family members all the time. As much as I love school, it was incredible to be home for the holidays. Now that I am older, I realize how much the holidays are about catching up with your family and realizing how blessed you really are. Family is the greatest blessing you have. Talking about all our memories we have together and being able to see each other was amazing. When you’re little, you think of your family as a necessity – they feed you, give you a home, and put clothes on your back. Now, as an adult, I realize how family is much more important for the soul.

My Monday Musts

Happy Monday, “Sparkle and Shine” readers!

First off, I wanted to say thank you so much for liking “Sparkle and Shine” on Facebook. I created the page less than a week ago and already have over 160 likes. If you haven’t already liked the page, you can like it here! If you want to stay up-to-date on all things Sami and “Sparkle and Shine” you can check out my social media buttons (those purple buttons below “Meet Sami” that say “Follow Me on Social Media). So after all the incredible feedback from you through social media, I am going to jump right into your favorite thing about Monday…My Monday Musts!

1. “The Bachelor” Premiere

Hellllllo Juan Pablo! So, I will be honest – I have never watched a season of “The Bachelor” before. When most girls my age started to get into it, the episodes always aired during my YMCA swim team practices, so I never got to watch. My little, Amber, persuaded me to watch this season with her. So after last nights introduction episode, I am already hooked! We spent the commercial breaks on the phone with each other, discussing our opinions on everything. I can’t wait for tonight’s episode!! Tonight, Amber and I are going to start making our favorites list of the girls. I can’t wait for my newest TV addiction to take full swing!

2. “The Internship”

Ask any college student what they’re doing over winter break and it may sound similar to the Honey Boo quote that goes “I’m  relaxin’…eatin’…havin’ a great time.” The easiest way to relax over this break was through vegging out on the couch watching movies. One night I was looking for a comedy to watch and came across “The Internship.” Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson starred in it – and I figured it would be like a “Wedding Crashers” mixed with Google. The movie was much more light hearted and inspiring then I thought it was going to be, which, in my opinion, made the movie about two grown men interning for Google much better than I ever anticipated. No matter your age, or your mood, if you’re looking for a good movie to watch, check out “The Internship.”

3. Dream Moods App

One thing I have always been interested in has been the meaning behind my dreams. I think the subconscious is such a fascinating concept and can really help reveal a lot about ourselves. This past week I had been having some really crazy dreams and decided to get to the bottom of their meanings myself. This is 2014 so, of course, there is an app for that! I downloaded the Dream Moods app and each morning I search my dreams. I type in the word and BOOM a huge description comes up. The app even keeps a journal of my dreams via the history of what I have searched! Interested in the app? It’s free!

I hope the rest of your Monday is relaxin’ (still using that Honey Boo Boo reference)! Mine will be – a little facial and reading some “Seventeen” magazine before “The Bachelor.”

Happy Monday, readers!!

“Mumford and Sons,” “Pride and Prejudice,” “Chicago,” Oh My! Find Items Featuring these on “Chicago’s Own” on Etsy!

This is a sponsored post. However, all opinions are my own.

Looking for a new phone case? Possibly even a nicely designed notebook? Or even a nicely designed desktop background? Well, your in luck. Look no further – check out “Chicago’s Own” on Etsy!

chicagos own

Chicago’s Own offers products featuring designs I haven’t really found anywhere else. For example, The shop features items such as popular music Mumford and Sons (like this iPhone case) or “Chicago” (like this notebook). The shop allows you to really express what you like thanks to its variety of rarely designed themed items.

From the Etsy shop, I received a “Pride and Prejudice” phone case featuring the popular quote from the movie – “you have bewitched me body and soul” with the word “LOVE” in all capital letters.

photo (91)

First off, the phone case was very durable. I am not the most gracious, but the phone case never broke or dented when my phone may have taken a little tumble.

I was also a tad apprehensive at first, because the case was white. The color white and I never seemed to mix well because I always would get it dirty. However, never did the case look dirty. It always look immaculate and brand new, even after days of use!

The colors on the case also made it pop. It was very eye catching, which is something I liked a lot. Many people would recognize the case, which would start a conversation about the movie, which led to the novel, and then other novels. I was able to get great book recommendations because of people who recognized the quote and chose to discuss “Pride and Prejudice.”

Another aspect I thoroughly enjoyed from “Chicago’s Own” was the packaging of the phone case. It wasn’t just shoved into an envelope. Here is how it came:

photo (90)

After how great my “Pride and Prejudice” case turned out to be, I just may purchase another case from “Chicago’s Own.” Perhaps the Duck Dynasty one?!

Shop “The Speranza Project” on Etsy to Help Fight Cancer

This is a sponsored post. However, all opinions are my own.

The Etsy shop The Speranza Project is helping to fight cancer. What’s better than shopping and helping a good cause?!

the speranza project

The Speranza Project donates 20% of its sales to a different organization that fights cancer, through research, offering financial support for families, offering personal items for patients, etc.

The shop offers hand drawn mugs, ceramics, accessories, and more! Most of the products display quotes from your favorite TV shows and books. Some are for the holidays. Popular movies and books on the site include “Harry Potter,” Doctor Who,” and John Green’s novel (and soon to be movie – yay!) “The Fault in Our Stars.” I received a mug featuring a popular “The Fault in Our Stars” quote saying, “My thoughts are stars that I cannot fathom into constellations.”

photo (95)

The other side of the mug featured another popular quote from the novel:

photo (92)

This mug is the PERFECT size! I am not a coffee drinker, but I do love hot chocolate! I cuddled up in my cheetah print snuggie, my Nook, and “The Fault in Our Stars” mug as soon as I came home from school for winter break.

photo (93)

As I got more engulfed in my book, the large size of the mug kept up with me as hours passed. There is nothing I find more annoying than running out of whatever you are drinking while you are all comfortable reading a great book!

photo (94)

The design on the mug was also very neat and professional looking. You could tell Alanna, the shop owner, had taken her time while doing this. Her patience in making it was definitely appreciated as the consumer.

For all you other book lovers out there, I recommended checking out The Speranza Project ASAP!

Clothing and other accessories are coming soon to The Speranza Project, so keep this in mind next time you are shopping. The store is definitely a place you will want to keep checking back with to help support an incredible cause!

My Monday Musts

Happy Monday, “Sparkle and Shine” readers!

I can’t believe this year is already over. Thank you so much for following me in my blogging journey thus far this year. I am happier than I could have ever imagined with my blog and couldn’t be anywhere without you readers!

I hope you all had a great 2013 and have great plans for 2014. I know I sure had an incredible 2013, and will be sharing with you all memories from it during the week.

More importantly, I hope you all had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you all that you had dreamed for. I know that underneath my Cinderella topped Christmas tree I had everything I could possibly ask for – Uggs, clothes, jewelry, gift cards, ADPi gear, and more! I finally got the Vineyard Vines cap and white vest I have been wanting! I am so thankful and blessed for not only the gifts I received, but the time I got to spend with my family. My whole family went down to my grandparent’s house to celebrate the holiday together. There is nothing more magical than being together with the family for Christmas.

mikey on christmas 2

Because of the craziness of finishing up my Christmas shopping and completing holiday traditions last week, I did not get to post My Monday Musts. Since I’m sure you were all so upset about it, I’m going to jump right into this week’s Monday Musts!

1. “Duck Dynasty” WILL be back – and with the whole family!

I’m sure for any of those who know me, you absolutely could have guessed that this was going to be on the list. We all know I looove “Duck Dynasty.” If you couldn’t tell from all of my posts about the show, you can always tell by my sweatshirts and tumblr (from my big. Thanks Katherine!). So, I was completely horrified when I heard that Phil was being suspended, and then that the show might be over because the family would not continue on without feel. I threatened that I would wear black 24/7, even to work, because I was in mourning. Since the controversy regarding what Phil Robertson said to GQ is now over, I will not share my opinions with you all. All I can say is that I am happy, happy, happy that there will be a new season premiering on January 15th that will feature the whole Robertson family!

2. Liebster Award

I recieved some awesome news from fellow blogger Jen that she nominated me for the “Liebster Award,” an award for bloggers with less than 200 followers. It was such honor that she had selected me and it was so much fun reading all of the answers to her questions from her nominee. Be on the look out for when I post my own Liebster Award nominees, as well as some fun facts about me and answer the questions Jen asked me in her nomination post.

3. “Who’s Got Your Money” by Tina Parol

So during finals week, my friends Bailey, Jacqueline, Jen and I got a little cabin-feverish while trying to study for our Friday exam. We took enough study breaks to take online quizzes that I can tell you what my spirit animal is, what Friends character I am, what Harry Potter house I would belong to, and more (a wolf, Rachel, and Gryffindor – in that order). During another study break, Bailey started singing (side note: she’s an incredible singer!), “Who’s Got Your Money.” Though the lyrics are slightly funny (it’s about a girl spending her ex’s money), the beat is extremely catchy and gives you a little pump up when at the gym. I can’t wait for the summer to blast this with the sunroof open. It’s a great girl power song. Thanks, Bailey!

2014 may not hold only great things in your lives, because you are all fabulous, but great things for “Sparkle and Shine.”

This is a sponsored post. However, all opinions are my own.

Christmas is just a few days away – ahh! Are you still looking for the perfect gift for your favorite sorority woman in your life? Or are a sorority woman and are looking to buy a little gift for yourself? Then check out Young and Greek on Etsy!

From the Etsy shop, I have received the Alpha Delta Pi infinity iPhone case.

I absolutely love it. I am able to express my personal style, as well as my sorority – Alpha Delta Pi. I got to select which color I wanted and which way I wanted the infinity symbol. By picking which color I wanted, I was really able to express myself because I chose my favorite color – bright pink! Plus, call me a typical girl, but I love the infinity symbol. It’s so perfect because it combines the color pink, the infinity symbol, and Alpha Delta Pi!

Young and Greek offers other designs and colors for smartphone cases. You can check out the complete list of their 100 smartphone cases here.

Besides the smartphone case, Young and Greek sent me the basic license plate frame in silver glitter! My car, a Toyota Camry, is like my baby. I even named it- Simba. Getting a license plate cover was like great because it was a cute little decoration for my baby – while spreading my ADPi love. The license plate is super cute not just because it says Alpha Delta Pi on it and the Greek letters, but because it looks like it has glitter on it. It’s just another pop to make Simba super feminine while ruling the roads. Now, wherever I go in Simba, the world can now I’m an ADPi!

I never thought about using a license plate frame until I received this one, but now I can’t imagine not having one. Check out the other 24 license plate covers this Etsy shop offers here.
